Submission of Product and Packaging Material Release Records

Submitted by Producer obligated to recycle
Submission deadline Until April 15 of the year following the year in which the recycling obligation was fulfilled
Submitted to Branch office of the regional division of the Korea Environment Corporation (submitted via the designated system)
Required documents Records of release/import of products/packaging materials subject to mandatory recycling
Copy of the business registration certificate of the producer obligated to recycle
Document proving the release records such as a settlement report, etc. (document providing the amount imported, in the case of importers)
Basic data used to calculate the weight/volume of the products/packaging materials
- Even if a producer obligated to recycle has registered as a member of a recycling business cooperative, he/she is obligated to submit the product/packaging material release records to the KECO.
- In the case of OEM (where the client’s trademark is attached to the equipment), the client must submit the release records.
※ The OEM must submit the records of the goods that were delivered to its client(s) and the goods that it released itself.

Restrictions

Description Check and verify the release of goods subject to be reported to the authorities or subject to a fine for negligence of not more than KRW 3 million or imprisonment of not more than one year
Target An individual who has not submitted the necessary report or materials, or submitted a falsified report or falsified materials, or refused or interfered with entry or inspection

Verification of the Amount of Release of Goods Subject to Mandatory Recycling

Target Perform on-demand surveys, whenever necessary, by selecting at least 20% of the goods subject to mandatory recycling in the year as samples to check the amount of release
